01_devendra.jpg Devendra R. Badki graduated from LIT, Nagpur. He joined the Research Team in August 2003 and is working at UICT on solar system and biomass energy applications.
02_gkbhide.jpg G. K. Bhide, Member of the Governing Council of Land Research Institute (LRI), primary area of interest physics, worked 20 years in the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, followed by 10 years with Bharat Electronics in charge of their Pune unit. He retired as head of Maharashtra Energy Development Agency. His book “Fibre Optics” was recently published by the National Book Trust, India.
03_anilgandhi.jpg Anil Narayan Gandhi is currently Adjunct Professor at UICT. He has 35 years Industrial experience in Multinational Corporate Research. His interests include Product and Process Development, Energy conservation, Pollution�control, and Management of Innovation. He has travelled widely and enjoys skillful sports.
04_ajit.jpg Ajitkumar Sudhakar Gudekar, Post-graduate in Chemical Engineering from UICT, Mumbai in 2002 after B.E. (Chemical) from the D. J. Sanghvi College of Engg, Mumbai (2000). He Worked as Project Engineer at Laxmi Organic Ind., MIDC, Mahad for 15 months. Presently working towards his PhD in Solar Energy at UICT
05_atul.jpg Atul Jadhav completed his Masters in Physics from Mumbai University in 2004. Then worked as a Lecturer of Physics in Kirti College (Dadar) for a year and a half. Presently working towards his PhD in Solar Energy under the guidance of Dr. Sudhir Panse in UICT.
06_jbjoshi.jpg J. B. Joshi, Professor of Chemical Engineering and now Director of Mumbai’s University Institute of Chemical Technology (UICT), has been teaching for 28 years. His research interests include reactor design, fluid mechanics, and energy. He was instrumental in committing UICT to a long-term interest in solar energy and energy conservation much before he became the head of UICT.

Kausley has a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Jalgaon, and after a year’s experience at National Chemical Laboratory on “Modelling of fluidized bed coal gasifiers” is now working towards his M.Chem. Engg.at UICT on “Modelling and Experiments with solid fuel burning stoves”.
08_kishore.jpg Kishore V. Mariwala, Member of the Governing Council of LRI, is a Chemical Engineer who retired as Technical Director of Bombay Oil Industries Ltd. After 35 exciting years working with edible oils, oleochemicals, spice extracts and flavourings, he now divides his time between developing cookers, sailing in and around Mumbai harbour, farming and travelling.
09_abpandit.jpg Prof Aniruddha B. Pandit has been teaching at UICT since 1990. His special interests are cavitation phenomena, and energy resources and utilization. Whenever he can, he wanders off trekking. �
10_sudhirpanse.jpg Sudhir Panse, after teaching Physics in Sathaye college, Vile-Parle and also working as Principal of the college, joined the University of Mumbai�as Director BCUD (i.e. the Chief Academic Officer of the University). He now works as adjunct faculty of Physics in UICT. His main research interests are in the technology and physics of ‘Solar Thermal’.�
11_sbp.jpg Shirish B. Patel, founder-President of LRI, has retired and is now Chairman Emeritus of a firm of Consulting Civil Engineers he founded in 1960. He is currently active with problems of urban planning and urban development. He brings his skills as a designer of prefabricated buildings, factories and bridges to bear on the problem of designing a cooking pot.
12_rsshah.jpg R. S. Shah retired after 35 years with Burmah-Shell and joined LRI in 1982. Peripatetic, he has uncovered the small workshops where our EcoCooker parts are enthusiastically fabricated. He looks after production and dispatch.
13_rekhasinghal.jpg Dr Rekha S. Singhal is Associate Professor in the Food and Fermentation Technology Division at UICT. Besides teaching and research in food science and technology, she has guided 18 Master’s degree students. The author of Handbook of Food Quality & Authenticity, she has over 100 research and review publications to her credit.
